Boutique La Gaillarde

About

La Gaillarde is a very unique place and space, it’s a not for profit cooperative boutique and not surprisingly the store has a really good vibe.  It’s broken up into four sections; there is a second hand section in the basement, a vintage section, a local creation (mostly recycled) section, and a workshop where members of the coop work on their lines and give lessons to community members on how to recycle their wardrobe.  I’m not making any of that up.  And oh yeah, they’re located in Montreal’s St-Henri neighborhood, the most recent recipient of the official hypster seal of approval.

Ethics

They’re a not for profit cooperative so instead of profit as their primary objective they have an environmental and socially based mission.  Their goal is to reuse second hand clothing and support the local fashion industry.
